MammaMia was founded in 2018 by three Italian-speaking mothers from Italy and Switzerland who recognised the need for a space where children and families could maintain a meaningful connection with the Italian language and culture while living in the UK.

Since then, MammaMia has grown into a registered charity dedicated to promoting Italian language, cultural exchange, and bilingual education through high-quality educational programmes, cultural initiatives, and community activities for children and families.

Our mission is to create opportunities for young learners to develop their Italian language skills, celebrate their cultural heritage, and build connections within a vibrant and inclusive community. We welcome both bilingual families and those approaching Italian as a new language, fostering cultural exchange and mutual understanding.

MammaMia’s success is made possible by the commitment of our teachers, volunteers, trustees, and families, whose support continues to shape and strengthen our work. We are proud to collaborate with educational and cultural institutions, including the Department of Italian Studies of the University of Liverpool and the Dante Alighieri Society Liverpool.
