Celebrate Italian Culture in Liverpool This Spring
We are delighted to invite you to three special events celebrating Italian language, cuisine, and community life in Liverpool for all the family. Organised in collaboration with the Dante Alighieri Society Liverpool, and as part of the Liverpool European Festival (for the events on 8th and 13th June), these gatherings offer a rich opportunity to connect with others and immerse yourself in Italian culture.
Whether you’re passionate about literature, Italian food, or live music, there is something for everyone.
Sunday 26th May, 4–5pm – Reading in Italian for children at Bold Street 95
Join us at the Dante Alighieri Society’s Liverpool office (Bold Street 95) for an afternoon of Italian storytelling and book browsing for children. The venue hosts a beautiful library with a good selection of Italian books for both adults and children. Families are warmly welcome.
Please note: Borrowing books requires a Dante Alighieri family membership (£35 per year).

Saturday 8th June – Garden Party and Gnocchi Workshop at Mossley Hill Parish Church
As part of the Liverpool European Festival, we invite you to a joyful afternoon celebrating Italian culture with a hands-on gnocchi-making workshop for children aged 4 and up, led by an experienced Italian chef.
Due to limited spaces, we kindly ask that families who had the opportunity to join the workshop last time allow space for those who have not yet participated.
If parents prefer not to join the workshop, they are very welcome to attend the Dante Alighieri Society’s Garden Party from 4pm, where tea and cakes will be served, and children can enjoy playing in the beautiful garden.
This event is free for families with MammaMia membership and is organised in collaboration with the Dante Alighieri Society Liverpool and the Liverpool European Festival.
Thursday 13th June – Fundraising Concert Night for MammaMia
Also part of the Liverpool European Festival, this evening brings together live Italian music, delicious food, and a strong sense of community. The band Paparazzi will perform live, and the event will raise funds to support MammaMia’s bilingual school and cultural activities.
